AS Laval makes a big move with the arrival of Mamadou Kane, a young striker with an impressive track record despite his age. At just 20, Kane has already worn the colours of several professional clubs in Canada, including York United, FC Edmonton and, most recently, Vancouver FC in the Canadian Premier League. Born in Senegal and developed at the CF Montréal academy, he brings rare tactical maturity.
His moment of glory? Last year, he scored a historic hat trick against HFX Wanderers in the Canadian Championship with CS St-Laurent, making his team the first from Ligue1 Québec to knock out a CPL professional club. That feat made him a symbol of the potential of Quebec’s semi-pro leagues.
“AS Laval is a project that spoke to me right away. I feel I can grow here and help the team aim for the top,” Kane said on his arrival.
